Plone4Artists - Use Plone to build an artist community website
Plone4Artists is a project to develop a common global infrastructure for artist community websites that is freely available under an Open Source licence.
Plone4Artists will provide artists and musicians with an easy-to-use tool for managing their website, saving time on routine tasks such as updating their performance calendar, uploading photos and MP3s, sending out newsletters and selling CDs or art work. The system will be accessible through a web interface and will support drag-n-drop addition of content to your website. The interface will be easily translated for use around the world and accessible to people with disabilities. More about the website management tools for artists/musicians

for Sponsors and Foundations Plone4Artists is a grassroots project seeking sponsors who can help fund further development of the product, provide technical / hosting services or assist with marketing and promotion. The Plone4Artists project is innovative not only in its use of open source licensing to distribute an application to arts/music organizations and individuals at no cost, but in its full embrace of the energy and creativity of the global open source developer community and its tools. The project is not based at a single company, but it managed by a community of musicians, artists and software developers. If successful, Plone4Artists will set a new paradigm for foundation-funded software development. Read more about our system for funding open source development.
